Celestial Mechanics: Oriental and Occidental Planets – A Lecture with Michele Finey

Dates: 10/14/2010 Dates: 10/14/2010 Times: 19:30 - 21:30 Location: Puget Sound Yacht Club, Seattle

Michele’s new book, Secrets of the Zodiac, is based on the idea that we evolve as we travel through the zodiac. This presentation explores the origins of this premise and explains the celestial mechanics of planetary motion with special emphasis on oriental and occidental planets. Planets rising before the Sun (oriental) and those rising after (occidental) are traditionally considered to be important but how exactly do these planets operate in a natal chart and why are they special? Discover how the motion of the planets illuminates, and in some cases alters, a number of common astrological assumptions, leading us to see the natal chart in a completely new light.

Michele Finey is a professional astrologer, writer and hypnotherapist based in Melbourne, Australia. It wasn’t long before Michele became utterly fascinated by the planets, casting her first horoscope in 1980 when transiting Uranus was making a conjunction to her natal Jupiter.

Michele’s articles have appeared in numerous publications including The Mountain Astrologer, Wellbeing Astrology Annual, Nature and Health and Dell Horoscope. She is the author of a comprehensive Health and Wellbeing report available through Solar Fire and her first book, Secrets of the Zodiac, was published in 2009 by Allen and Unwin. A second edition of this book was published in 2010 for distribution in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
