Monthly Antiscia – November 2011

Midway through the month a long-standing contra-antiscia of Jupiter|Neptune begins (see chart below). Due to Jupiter’s retrograde motion, and the recent station of Neptune, its influence lasts from November 16th to the middle of January 2012! Sitting at the midpoint of this combination, at zero degrees Aries, is Uranus – certainly a sign of the times. In his book, The Combination of Stellar Influences, Reinhold Ebertin says of Ju/Ne = Ur: “Experiencing the contrast between imagination and reality, the stage of coming down to earth with a bump, sudden recognition of a difficult situation.”

Antiscia refers to reflections or shadow points symmetrically arranged around zero degrees of any of the Cardinal signs – Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn. Planets antiscia and contra-antiscia to each other manifest powerfully in the world due to their connection with the Cardinal axis.

To use this list, simply blend the meanings of planets in combination. Bold dates indicate the strongest day for a particular planetary expression. Dates showing only one planet indicate its ingress into a Cardinal sign (or 15 degree Fixed) i.e. it is sitting directly on the Cardinal axis and so should feature prominently that day. Those marked with an asterisk are antiscia formed around the midpoint of two Cardinal signs, which is always at 15 degrees Fixed. Those with a (c) indicate contra-antiscia, a symmetrical arrangement around the Aries/Libra axis, which like contra parallel may be a more stressful or confrontational form of antiscia.
