If a child were telling this story, you’d be paying closer attention. You’d give all your attention. You’d be very curious to hear what she might say. She would remind you of you. You’d be excited to let her out to play.
If a child were telling this story, your heart would feel much younger and the furrows you hold in your face would soften. Any tightness inside you would start to melt because you hold a different space for a child.
If a child were telling this story, you would find yourself smiling. You would not expect reason, accuracy or answers to your questions. You might really listen; quieting the dialogue in your own head.
If a child were telling this story, he would make something up from what he knows. What does he know? His knowing comes from all directions. In him, sources still flow without diversion or dam.
If a child were telling this story, reality wouldn’t matter so much. The truth would be received between her words and with your heart. The story would be less important than the child.
If a child were telling this story, you’d be wrapped in the magic of life. You’d experience the mystery of everything and anything. Time would stand still. Space would lose its form.
If a child were telling this story, a doorway would open, and you might go through, into the light; into the radiance of your own being.
Be the child
And know the angels sing for you
While the world watches in wonder
